Look… you have one reason to have Blackie work on your amp; to get the sound you always wanted from it. I was fortunate enough years ago to buy an early 70’s Silverface Vibrolux, it sounded pretty good, but never really great. I had a guy mod it in the late 90’s and it sounded better, but was still missing that sound I was hearing in my head. Finally I discovered Tubesville and dropped the amp off and put it in Blackie’s capable hands. Whoa, when I got it back I was stunned; he had retubed the amp with carefully hand matched tubes, had replaced and tweaked the reverb, and the vibrato just was spot on. He even rewired the speaker harness with heavy-duty high quality cloth covered wire. Leo Fender would be proud even, and Link Wray, Poison Ivy, and Dwayne Eddie would be jealous if they heard it! It was everything I could want in a Vibrolux!

I was lucky to be raised by an electronic engineer dad, who always had a mad scientist laboratory of stuff in the basement. I was always around vintage ham radio gear with tubes, and ultra high quality surplus military gear. That experience allows me to see and hear minute things many others don’t. First it was the attention to tone detail which I noticed when I played through the amp, then I opened it up and saw the soldering work, choice of components and the neatness of the wiring. It took me back to the days of my dad, his techie buddies and all of that great gear we had around the house. It’s old school craftsmanship at it’s finest. I cannot recommend a better amp tech than Blackie. Call him and get what you want from your amp now!
